McKinney goes 6-0 in Little Elm Tournament

February 22, 2014
All Tournament: Chelsea Thomas, Jazsmin Nelson, Krissy Fontillas

McKinney goes 3-0 on Thursday, Feb 20th to take the top seed in Pool A.  They have to wait until Saturday to start bracket play because of the Pool B games being played on Friday.  The Lionette's get by Princeton and Dumas to advance to the final game at 7pm versus Chant.  Despite going down eight runs in the top of the first inning, they roar back with nine runs in the bottom half.  The turning point of the game was in the top of the second when Ashley Carlton turns a double play and Krissy Fontillas getting the third out of the inning and not allowing the Chargers to score.  The Lionette's score five runs to take a commanding lead of 14-8.  A lead they would not relinquish and "run rule" the Chargers in the 5th inning with the final score of 19-8.
