Welcome
back to school McKinney Softball! Expectations remain high after
2 consecutive playoff appearances. Some notables from last season:
Team
records were broken in Batting Average, Doubles, Triples, Home Runs,
Fewest Offensive K's, Slugging %, On Base %, and Stolen Bases.
Many individual records were also set and can be viewed on the
Records link.
In Summer news:
Former McKinney softball player
and Ball State freshman Jennifer Gilbert played for the Canadian
Junior National Team, taking Silver in the World Qualifier in Bogota,
Colombia.
Former player and Georgia Tech freshman Ashley Thomas
played for the Texas Glory Gold - Adkins team and finished 17th place
in the ASA Gold Nationals in Marietta, GA.
Senior Meredith Baker
and UNT commitment played for the Texas Glory Gold - Adkins team and
finished 17th place in the ASA Gold Nationals in Marietta, GA.
In district news, McKinney moves to District 10-4A this year and will keep
playing cross town rival McKinney North as well as face Rockwall-Heath
in district play
In Booster Club news:
Thanks
to everyone who showed up to the booster meeting. We have a great
group of parents ready to help out. The new booster
representatives are as follows:
President - Brandon Verwolf
Vice-President - Susie Whitson
Treasurer - Michael Rousey
Secretary - Kathy Carlton
Concessions team - Jody Verwolf, Wanda Kelley, Sandra Carrasco-Zupata
We
will have the big booster club meeting in October/November where orders
will be placed for spirit wear, batpack bag, gloves, cleats, socks,
etc. More on that to come.

Meredith Baker Commits to University of North Texas

Congratulations to Meredith Baker for
verbally committing to University of North Texas
to play softball under head coach TJ Hubbard.
The Mean Green play in the Division I Sun
Belt Conference (SBC). Outside of high school ball, Meredith plays for Dan Adkins’ Texas Glory
Gold team, placing 17th in ASA Gold Nationals.
